Authority and Responsibilities
The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Mahasarakham University was established as an internal unit of Mahasarakham University according to the resolution of the University Council Meeting No. 3/2542 on March 18, 1999. Later, on February 8, 2005, it received approval from the Mahasarakham University Council to amend the University’s regulations concerning the Faculty of Engineering in 2005. It was established as the Faculty of Engineering with the responsibility of providing higher education. It operates independently from government agencies and is tasked with providing education similarly to other engineering faculties, focusing on flexibility, efficiency, and self-reliance in its management.
Currently, the Faculty of Engineering is dedicated to providing undergraduate and graduate education, ensuring that graduates possess both theoretical and practical knowledge. The faculty supports research to create new knowledge, promotes innovative community services, preserves art and culture, and fosters creativity and problem-solving skills to help individuals adapt and coexist in society. Located in an area rich in intellectual diversity, history, and cultural heritage, the Faculty of Engineering excels academically, meeting societal needs and integrating with other organizations to gain international recognition. This effort plays a crucial role in advancing Mahasarakham University towards becoming a leading university in Asia.
The Faculty of Engineering has the following missions:
- To provide engineering education aimed at producing graduates of high quality and standards, with desirable characteristics and entrepreneurial knowledge.
- To develop research and innovation towards excellence, leading to the sustainable transfer of technology to communities and society.
- To manage the organization towards excellence based on good governance principles.
The internal divisions and their responsibilities are as follows:
- The Office of the Secretary is tasked with supporting the management of education and is divided into three units:
-Administrative Unit
-Policy, Planning, and Finance Unit
-Student Development Unit, which is responsible for supporting the management of education.
